Philosophy of Teaching
The philosophy developed over the last three decades is that all people are capable of being educated at their own level for a more enjoyable and productive future.
The role of the teacher/facilitator is to provide a safe and comfortable context in which to foster growth in social, academic, and emotional dimensions.
The teacher must provide a balanced curriculum to permit growth in knowledge, skills, and values.
The teacher must cultivate trustworthy relationships with students, parents, administration and colleagues by presenting as the authentic self.
The teacher needs to be an exemplar of life-long learning.
The teacher should be a mentor to younger colleagues, to pass on the torch of learning, to provide continuity within the social institution of school.
The teacher is a leader in facilitating the progress of the collegial group.
