Mandate
The
mandate at CPDC is to bring the sport to a widespread professional level, providing
opportunities for Canadian players which have not been possible before.
Driving
this mandate is the notion that the Sport of Darts should one day take its
rightful place as an Olympic competition.
The
CPDC’s goal over the coming years is to ensure that darts players both
new and established have the opportunities to play their sport at a professional
level. This means televised events, better prize money and the world circuit
of darts.
At
a professional level it is exceedingly tough to be a champion, the margin
for error, the difference of winning and losing, a mere fraction of an inch.
As the
professional game develops under the CPDC, with increasing prize money
and televised tournaments, the pressure for players to be on
the top of their game
is increasing.
It
is one of the major objectives of the organization to increase the number
of members across the nation such that each region can put forth a team of
Professional Darts Players.
The sport has no pretensions.
It is proudly blue-collar yet, in truth, is played and watched by a very
wide section of the community. A temple of learning for all, darts is a universal
language that shows no social, economic or cultural barriers.
