Stephen Charles is an Irish/English Canadian who settled here about 24 years ago. His comedic style and singer/songwriter abilities quickly established him in Toronto as a top class cabaret/lounge performer starring at the Ports of Call. He toured extensively across Canada and the United States before becoming one of the Lord Stanley'’ minstrels for several years. His wide ranging musical material and ready wit allowed him to easily adapt to any audience, age group or setting.

…………. “His versatility combined with instant audience rapport and comically addictive personality blend well to create a first class act.”…..
Globe and Mail

…………. “Charles is an engaging performer whose ready wit mixes with a British Pub atmosphere and North American musical influences to come up with remarkably fine performances each night.”…..
Saskatoon Herald

………… “ Stephen possesses the versatility and professionalism necessary to captivate and hold an audience.”…..
The Duke of Grafton

He still writes, produces and directs Variety Shows for all ages and has also created the spectacular Opening Ceremonies for the Ontario Winter Games in 1991 and the International Students’ skiing Championships in 1993, Winter Special Olympics and the World Masters Weight Lifting Championships in 1996. He has performed at the Imperial Room of the Royal York Hotel and the Queens Park Canada Day Celebrations together with his band Flanagan’s Fancy. At Woodbine Racetrack, he has appeared before Queen Elizabeth II and other dignitaries such as the Prime Minister of Canada and various Premiers of Ontario.
He has hosted Concerts in the Park for CBC, created light designs for local theatre and for dance recitals at the Gryphon Theatre in Barrie, Ontario as well as designing backdrops and theatrical sets. For the past 8 years he has been responsible, with his company Sound and Light Design, Clearview, for the concert and theatrical productions of Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts.
If you add his performances as the Magical Singing Clown “Charlie”, a Town Crier/MC, a drama teacher and a comedy writer, then you have, at least, a sketch of his experience and versatility.
